  2. I'm happy to leave it to Rugby League Cares as they have the skill, ability, knowledge, experience, focus, influence, access, resources, personnel etc, probably more that us contributors to this forum.
  3. Nevertheless, a proportion of my income tax finds it way to Kirklees, so as a funder of Kirklees, I have a right to comment as an interested party.
  4. Yet another temporary manager post-Ferguson. How many is that now? 7 in 7 years, I think.
  5. Wherevery it is sited, if the local authority is funding it, it's not just the council tax payer who will be paying. As I've pointed out, around 25% of local authority income is from govt (I. E. general taxpayer) grant. Thus, whether you live in Kent or Kornwall, youll be paying in part, to Kirklees.
  6. Exactly. It was his words about using all RLC's assets. RUGBY LEAGUE CARES - 1150763 (charitycommission.gov.uk) THE RFL BENEVOLENT FUND - 1109858 (charitycommission.gov.uk) I'm not a fan of siting it at The George, though. Better in my view to locate it where there are large numbers of people, fans, followers and general public. Just a small proportion of a large number will in my view, be better than a place of pilgrimage maybe..for a few. The faithful will make that pilgrimage wherever the museum is.
  7. They pull this trick up there every year, sometimes in July!
  8. We all contribute to Kirklees income. In 2019/20, local authorities in England received 23% of their funding from government grants.
  9. Thanks GJ. If RL Cares were to choose to try to build or rent a building for the museum with them at the head, in complete project charge, with no dependencies on others , other than contractors, what might the position be? For example, i assume that a new build on land close to Headingly or Wigan, or Warrington (other locations are available?) as HQ premises for Rugby League Cares, with medical and rehab facilities etc, encompassing the museum, would need a complete plan in place with much commited funding, before lottery funding could be applied for.
  10. Is there any element of Lottery funding in this? If so, what? If not, why not?
  11. Very apt for the museum. Another parallel perhaps: goalkeeping for Racing Universitaire d'Alger juniors.
  12. I agree entirely. The LSV gets on fine. The George is OK as a place of pilgrimage for us members of the secret society that is rugby league, but it is hardly likely to be discovered by anyone else. Media City would be OK as we could run educational courses for the adjacent licence-funded Guardians of Truth. An alternative might be next to the new HQ of Channel 4 TV in Leeds as their Head of Sport has relocated there. PS: Why should I be happier, or even worse , happy? I'm a rugby league fan.
  13. Mobile a great idea: an immersive VR/AR experience both mobile and based at Museum HQ
  14. I'm sure you'll correct me if I'm wrong, but you are a Leigh fan, I believe.
  15. In other words, it's going to be at The George and nowhere else in Kirklees, or Rugby League cares will pull the project and locate it elsewhere. Is that a fair interpretation?
  16. so what is your reliable source for saying the station will be closed for two years? That is the station that will be closing down for two years in 2023?
  17. Yes, that's the one. Of course, with you being a true rugby league fan, you choose to make it sound negative.
