How prepared are you?
Futtocks replied to Bedford Roughyed's topic in Any Other Business / Any Other Sports
As a child of my time, I have always had candles and the means to light them in the house. Given that I have had about ten power cuts in the last two years, that's been wiser than ever recently. Unlike the emergency stock I had decades ago, I now have big, multi-wick church candles. Much more light and physical stability. I also have some battery-powered LED lights. -

There was a crackdown this round regarding high contact: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-04-28/nrl-high-tackle-sin-bin-crackdown-reaction/105225414 Following the backlash, the NRL seem to have listened: "I get the frustration around the bunker intervening in play, that is certainly not something any of us want to see," NRL chief executive Andrew Abdo said on 2GB on Monday. "There's probably been too many of those where that disrupts play and gets pulled back, and that's something we're going to work on." So, we will probably get another reset and all the same talking heads will be fuming about players being put on report and not being sufficiently punished for dangerous play.

The NRL Round 8 Thread
Futtocks replied to THE RED ROOSTER's topic in The Australian Rugby League Forum
There's a row brewing about Melbourne Storm's cancellation of the "Welcome to Country" greeting this NRL round, and it turns out that club director Brett Ralph is a significant donor to Advance, a Right Wing lobby group campaigning to end the ritual. Isn't he in the wrong code for this sort of thing?
