  2. That's what I'm enjoying. I like experimenting... The butter is great with salt flakes..... I made some garlic n parsley butter too...

  4. Taken to baking my own bread and making my own butter. It's a very satisfying and therapeutic activity. It is suggested I've become quite good at it.... which pleases me no end.
  5. I dreamed I was making jam in 'the old trip to Jerusalem'..... I put dream analysis in the same folder as astrology..... too much stilton and port = a strange night.
  6. Been a muso morning. Market stall holder recognises my red wedge t-shirt so had a long conversation about the old days, Billy Bragg jam style council etc Pharmacist went to see simple minds so he was blasting them out in his shop. And the egg man was doing his best classic metal rendition of only you can rock me by ufo.... The sunshine seems to have lifted the mood a touch on what has been a ###### week.

  10. She just gets the best she can get. Lightly flour beef. Fry off and then in same pan fry off onions n carrots. Degalze pan and braise beef onions n carrotts in Half brown beer, half good beef stock made from bones from butcher. Add salt pepper and thyme n bay leaves from garden. Add Half inch cubed taities cooked 10 mins... Pastry..... she uses half butter n half poncey italian lard she gets from butcher.... it really does make a difference.... crunchy n crisp. Mushy peyz.... only steeped peyz will do... Jeez I'm stuffed. Sometimes the simple stuff done well is just perfect

  12. Watched 'when album was king' on the beeb last night.... it was like a catalogue of my youth.... So much so.... though it was never my fav live album... nor he my fav artist.... Frampton comes alive gets a spin this morning and I shall follow that up with DSOTM whilst I'm prepping dinner.... then finish off with down by the jetty... and perhaps tom petty's debut for the memsahib This morning's playlist at chateau ginge.... nowt too obscure today

  15. No aged stuff available now from scapa. The quality has gone from a lovely heathery salty fragrant top drawer whisky .... one of my personal favs.... to sheeite almost overnight..yes there was a change of owners after a dormant period..... far from a change for the good. Very disappointed. Arran however, go from strength to strength....
  16. I've been one to eats bacon every morning. Good bacon on good bread is probably what I would ask for as my choice of last meal on earth. However, not so surprisingly I'm enjoying substituting bacon with kippers on occasion has been wonderful. Good smokey kippers with a poached egg.... top breaky
  17. I'm in one of those stages. It started as I left school. I'm 56!
  18. Got into little feet purely as a girl I fancied at school liked them. She didn't like ginger kids .... so I missed out (again), but at least I got introduced to the music..... Blown out more times than a windsock me!! ?
