Think it was Briscoe (2) and Hankinson. Bussey limped off as well. Was holding his ankle before getting up and looked in discomfort but walked off unaided and seemed to get the thumbs up. Hopefully precautionary.........

What on earth did Joey do last season to become a nailed on starter ahead of Hall ? Are we basing this on Hall's age and the fact that we paying Joey so much or basing it on performances on the pitch ? If it's the latter clearly I know nothing. Maybe Joey shed 5 stone and Hall had a leg amputated in the off-season.

Lacans definitely isn't big for a prop

Ha ha it would be nice to think we have selection problems but history tells us that after a few games and injuries kick in the team starts to pick itself. That aside for me, ... Hall at FB then Briscoe, Leilua, Hankinson, Gale. Pickers as cover. When Killer's fit he has to play but ask me again if we have to worry about who to drop by then lol..

Yeah I was assuming that Hardcastle will now be primarily regarded as a back rower ? Personally I don't like to see Hall on the wing. He's a top player and one of the best still at this level but I don't think he has either the flying finish or crash bang finish to play on the wing and he sometimes runs out of space out there. All about opinions though of course

Whether or not Locky stays for another year - haven't we got at least 8 props / middles ? It does always feel at this point that we could do with just one more rampaging forward but as it stands I think we're ok - for now. We have some quality three-quarters possibly loaded too much towards FB and centre (I would have kept Doyle as cover on the wing) but for me if we only sign two more players until the start of the season they would both be half backs.... If we're including Wildie as cover then last year we started with 6 half backs which increased to 7 when we signed Ford - although admittedly that signing was made when Holmes and Chizzy were unlikely to play for us again. I don't see how we can include Wildie as cover though - whilst he probably played his best rugby for us at half back in his first spell with us we have no cover at hooker and can't have Jones doing 80 minutes each week if we have an injury. I hope that the Ford and Lacans experiment is a revelation but in reality we don't know much about Lacans and to say the jury's out regarding Ford is an understatement. So for me - throw as many half backs at the squad as we can afford and hopefully a couple will stick.....

Just to clarify i was just joking and don't care what we call them - as long as we're talking about the same thing !!

Yeah I'm wanting to draw a line under a few others performances from last year as well and see what Long can get out of them. A shame we only saw Smith and Jacks under the McD regime. That said last year was so disappointing a few new faces can't be a bad thing.

I'm quite happy to blame McDermott for everything that went wrong last year and move on without worrying too much about anything else. As far as Ford goes I thought he wasn't given much of a chance by supporters initially. Imo he's a classy player who can open up defences on his day but he can look totally out of of place at times and far from that leader / midfield general that can lead us around the park - the type we've been looking for over the last few years

Would be very disappointing if true. A unique talent especially at this level. I think we lack something when he doesn't play. Missed both of this year's Batley debacles unsurprisingly.

I won't be able to watch any RL game again until next year when we have a new coach. Hopefully by the time we play Batley we may be in a position to beat them and I can stop with the therapy.

WTF...... Lets just have an Its a knockout (for the oldies) event played out by the mascots to determine promotion and relegation. Seriously nothing would surprise me......

I was shot down in flames on here just a few weeks back when I suggested that there didn't seem to be a great team spirit. As far as McD goes I've been calling him an idiot all year. The general response was judge him at the end of the season. I never understood that - did anyone really need to witness THREE unsuccessful attempts to beat Batley before realising something was wrong.

I suspect that had anyone tried it they would have been subbed for trying something different. Although I'm not convinced that any of our players had those skills. We got shut of those players(s) - but thats another debate......

As long as the next coach is a former half back I'll be happy. Of all the dire things about this season what stands out for me was the lack of ideas on the last tackle and those unchallenged half hearted chip kicks down the full backs throat.
