  1. Half-decent pack, Warrington, but Slammin’ Sam will need to move out some of the dross to leave some cap spend for quality backs.
  2. Cheeky move by Sironen to force a Warrington ‘offload’ snaffled by Saints.

  5. The Tag World Cup is featured in the September issue of Forty20.
  6. Schofield has a fair point. We have one bona fide international class halfback plus a couple of could-bes. After that the quality drops away sharply.
  7. Just leaving this here: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/nrl/article-12500395/Paul-Kent-new-job-NRL-Fox-Sports-alleged-domestic-violence.html
  8. I want to see the reputation of international rugby league per se to grow so that it’s seen as the pinnacle of the game. This is turn would lead to higher worldwide TV figures, sponsorships, ticket sales and therefore central distribution to developing nations. In my view, the better way to achieve this is via a high quality World Cup that showcases our elite players in competitive games, not dilute it by including more and more nations of dubious standard/provenance.
  9. I’n sure Bruce Papalazarou et al had a great time but that doesn’t establish why Greece should play in the World Cup.
  10. 100% homegrown Uruguayan and 95% Georgian. Got it. I see your point but you still haven’t established why a bunch of Aussies with Greek grannies have to be thrown together for a World Cup to be thrashed within an inch of their lives. What’s wrong with having a super-competitive World Cup and a super-competitive ‘International Cup’ for the developing nations?
  11. I honestly couldn’t give a monkey’s testicle about RU, it makes my teeth fall asleep. But as I understand it, rugby union is well established in these countries. I’m sure they are not merely grabbing a bunch of Aussies with Japanese grandads and saying ‘Here you go lads, have a crack at the All Blacks’
  12. None whatsoever. We’re talking about whether 1000/1 no-hopers should be in the World Cup to make up the (illusory) numbers. Not the 3rd favourites (as Samoa were IIRC).
  13. Sam Burgess and Sam Tomkins to be involved in the England set-up https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/sam-burgess-shaun-wane-england-30926289.amp
  14. On a scale of 1 to 10, how scary is Lindsay Anfield when she gets mad? Has she ever made you cry?
