Just like the Roosters!

Your brand is your identity that people identify you with first and foremost more than anything else. It is your first impression. It includes your badge, your team colours etc. If its good, great, if its rubbish, folk notice. Hence why all your folks in the pub were complaining about no longer being red and white.

Agreed, I'm not defending the policy I'm just explaining the logic. I think the actual prices have been too high and illogical considering the density of tickets available in certain areas/times.
-
And amateur rebrands with no website fit into that how?

Every U18 in Bradford can watch the Bulls for free
Tommygilf replied to gingerjon's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Not perfect, but I hope it helps the Bulls in the City. -
It was a spicey afternoon or so! I can see why Bradford City want to update what they have so it is a bit more digital friendly.

I've just remembered, is the sign still up???
-
Even Leeds United with the worst attempted rebadging I've ever seen never had this.
-
If it was good why is it changing???

There's no website to make an official communication on...

Firstly, there is nothing inherently wrong with Leigh Leopards. It could absolutely work. I don't think anyone (save some old fogies) would argue with that. Secondly, the rationale is "above all the owners well known love of the leopard". It doesn't matter who you are its rubbish. Thirdly, this was not initially done as a holding logo till the real thing was revealed. The extensive presentation made zero mention of this, it was the finished article to go on all the kits etc. Its no surprise that there has been an attempt to change the narrative in light of the backlash. Fourthly, even if we take everything said in the presentation at face value, the digital ready transition doesn't have a website or fully translated social media profiles. Facebook they are waiting to change (when surely this has been months in the planning) and Twitter they binned off their old page and followers altogether! Lastly, the deadline is no excuse at all. York managed very professionally, Leigh we are told have the resources to do at least as well if not better.

Surely you can't look at that badge* and say "hmmm yes this looks like a professional job of the same standard as others I've seen in the past few years?" *and edited versions.
-
Says Manchester on the badge doesn't it? Andy Mazey was the major proponent and faced significant backlash from the fans. I believe he left Swinton in the aftermath of this and headed to Rochdale.
-
Does the badge* fit social media portraits for example? This is the sort of basics being failed here. *seemingly now subject to change

Aside from that being nonsense, it is precisely because I don't hate Leigh that I find it sad how embarrassing this is. DB can invest as much as he likes, he'll be gone from Leigh RLFC one day. He's just a custodian, and Leigh with its fans and history isn't his toy.

I think there's a problem that RL wants more early buyers to lock in income and attendees earlier. Late discounts tickets undermine that aim. People buying late generally impacts attendances too as ultimately the game has to be more attractive to the individual. Usually that is through their own club's involvement, but there is no guarantee of that clearly; so the potential numbers are smaller and determined by the number of fans any two given clubs have. Its no secret the RFL have been relying on certain "well followed" clubs reaching major finals to secure lots of late ticket sales on top of middling at best pre-sales because of this late buying culture they have nurtured. For example, in 2016 I went to the Challenge Cup Final. I only went because a few of us decided to get Club Wembley tickets (at a very good, potentially even discounted price) basically a year in advance. Had it been the same ticket, the same price, but offered to me a week before the final, I wouldn't have gone because my interest in going wasn't high enough on its own to persuade me to part with my cash.

Why? The badge is changing next week, in fact its changing daily!
-
Will be heading Extra Time before the game with my mates I think

The launch of a rebrand wasn't actually the launch of a rebrand, but nobody told anyone this till several days later because they definitely didn't see the public reaction being incredibly negative and change their position based on that... Everything associated with this "rebrand" is tinpot from start to finish.

We get it, you're easily pleased!

2023 New Kits, Sponsors and Suppliers

There are several reasons why players rugby shirts don't have collars -
Was that on the page that is still called Leigh Centurions? I presume that is also what these "enoses" are in reference to: If you rebrand and then immediately start changing it, I can't see how anyone spins that into a positive...
