  1. I don't think its unrealistic for these clubs to be unhappy. If they were football clubs they would be what, 7th 8th tier size at best most of them currently? And that is regionalised. Our folly is pretending that these clubs can be national league teams in their current setup. Form a League 2 North for the clubs that don't want to travel nationally so they can progress to the serious national leagues when they are able to.
  2. Covid and no government loans. Without the latter we'd only have maybe 6 professional rugby league teams left in this country, and even then they'd be vastly diminished.
  3. Or, alternatively we need to decide whether some clubs aren't capable of operating at certain levels. Which is fine so long as it doesn't hold the game back.
  4. There was no appetite for RL in Toronto yet more people turned out for single games there than in much of the lower reaches of the Championship and League 1 combined.
  5. Even stops at Wakey Westgate for those that way inclined.
  6. The hybrid pitches are the future. Grass in a lattice of astro turf so that the pitch keeps its strength in difficult conditions. I believe its at Twickenham and most premier league grounds now because it is good for drainage (its installation was also why top gear were able to play rugby with cars at Twickenham on the old pitch if you believe internet rumour).
  7. Yeah hence why I suppose insta is more youth focused. Facebook comments are a quagmire generally. Really pointless if you know this place exists!
  8. I was making more of an age/politics point lol. Its a generalisation, but it does work roughly.
  9. This. Rugby League has had franchising/licensing since day 1. Hence Glasgow being denied entry 60 years ago for example (and I'm sure there are many others). People naturally want it when it protects them ("they can't be in our league" etc.) and dislike it when it threatens them. Very few are honest enough to accept that it has always existed though.
  10. I think that the other stadiums option is a bit of wishful thinking though, even if it is a negotiating tactic. It's the only card Salford could play in this moment and its not a very strong one at that. In every other way they are passengers in this deal.
  11. Indeed, they seem to have united all sides, young and old, remain and leave - unbelievably difficult when you think about it
  12. Cas and KR, it could be worse from Oxen... This one goes to show you can have everything going for a shirt (no main sponsor to accommodate, minimal sponsors that are there easy to intergrate, traditional colour pallet) and still get something meh.
  13. You can see in that video towards the end how the sleeves on the supporters editions are oddly proportioned.
  14. He wouldn't go to Man United and Liverpool would make far more sense in every way for him.
  15. Cas shirt also seems to have the supporter names on the shirt which I always think is nice for the players kits but a bit tacky for fans. Fwiw I went to check out the Leeds and England Oxen kits in Leeds today and remain still a little unconvinced (I bought the ones on sale!). The bottom and sleeve hems seem a bit "floppy" for me.
  16. Cas have had Amber shirts as third or special shirts over the past few years, I wonder how they stack up by comparison in terms of sales. The last proper amber kit they had was 2014 iirc? The last year of ISC and perhaps not coincidentally the last year before XBlades which is now Oxen (and ran by the same people).
  17. Seen the new Bond and the new Venom films in the past fortnight. I was significantly happier with the latter. The Craig era is far more true to the books I feel. Which would be fine if the books weren't terrible... They also suffer from the obsession with back story and retrospective interlinking that plagues a lot of modern cinema. Skyfall was a fantastic movie, genuinely one of my favourites, but in the next movie they were intent on making Da Silva a part of Spectre. Then the baddy in NTTD is lacklustre at best and is a poor imitation of a villain archetype they have done in the previous 2 films. I definitely think the next Bond will be a left field, possibly unheard of choice, and they will go back to a more Roger Moore-esque lighter hearted approach. Craig always seemed to be so close to breaking out of the dour, Bourne-esque style scripts he had.
  18. Macron's gear seems to have improved of late, perhaps thats because previously I associated it with LUFC in the lower/middle of the Championship...
  19. Salford City would be looking at roughly 30 home games (on a tuesday/saturday basis) including various cups. Sale with european games (and you'd assume as owners some youth games) probably not far off 45/50 games a season. Plus they'd want tenants with a good credit score...
