Woohoo!! Thank you so much for organising, it will be worn with pride.

I totally agree with you on the tickets and strip, if possible they should be available well before Christmas to maximise gift buying etc. Making the same point endlessly on new signings, however, is boring and completely pointless. We've seen that there are additions to the squad with our own eyes. Just be patient, when they are announced makes zero difference. They are in training and will be ready when the season starts, that's literally all that matters.

I've said it before, we could sign James Tedesco and he'd still be too old/too slow/too Australian for some.
-
Ooooohhhh, she's a beaut!
-
If you say so

Groundhog Day again, I see.

Cleary couldn't handle the slope

You're assuming the players themselves have decided what they're doing. Season only officially finished for us last week, I imagine they'll have a rest, a holiday and a ponder.

At last, someone with a cool(ie) head. Winning and losing is a part of sport. Yes, dire performances are frustrating, maybe a little upsetting for a while, but those lads have left it all on the park for a long time now, they showed fight and spirit against Halifax at Wembley but currently seem to be in a slump. We are definitely in a transition period, I feel. Think we will see a fair few retirees in the next year or two, but we will rebuild and come again. We are one of the best run clubs in the entire sport, I've got every faith that will continue and, as our friend from over the hill says, we've just to embrace it and enjoy the good bits that do come along. I do sometimes feel like we expect too much and put a lot of pressure on our players, they're part time let's remember. I've been accused of being a happy clapper before now, but I'd prefer that than to fall into a deep depression every time we lose a few on the bounce!

Halifax Panthers - 1895 Cup final 17:30
BatleyBird replied to Keep The Faith's topic in Batley Bulldogs
My friend wrote that note and I can honestly say, shes one of the nicest and warm hearted people you could ever wish to meet. I'm so proud that something has come of it, and what a lovely way to honour those who never got the chance to see their boys at Wembley. -
Hope he's found soon, you must be frantic.
-
And they aren't just playing in their normal alternate away shirt, its a new design especially for the final. Could be due to us playing in different competitions, of course, but does seem inconsistent if the RFL really have said we must play in our home shirt.
-
I'm in too. The wording on that email does seem odd but I've read it again and I get it now.

Being in the unfortunate position of living with a Bulls fan, I watched the game last night and Bradford were awful. I know what you mean about the Wembley effect though, that will defo be on people's mind, I'm sure, but Bulls will have to step up their game on Sunday if they want a result.

Bob on.

Exactly. Some people are never, ever happy. We are currently tearing it up on the pitch, 3rd in the league and on our way to Wembley. If that's not enough to attract players, I don't know what is. The negativity on here drives me up the wall!

This. I know it would be grand to have a big prize pot (we can only hope, in this sport), but this is about the occasion. Standing as one in one of the best sporting venues in the country, cheering on OUR team, creating memories. And if it's a big occasion for us supporters, think about the lads who will be out on that pitch, what a feeling. I imaging they've dreamt of playing at Wembley all their lives, and here it is.

I'm old too, and I'm not cool either but I can still kid myself

Block 120 is where all the cool kids are.
-
Me too. Without the RogerT though, obviously
-
Thank you. I don't think it's really sunk in yet. And you're right. As a Leeds United fan also, the trips to Wembley are very few and far between!! I, and I'm sure my fellow Bulldogs fans, will be making the very most of it.
-
To be fair, it's the same for every club in every sport. It's not the same mix of people every single game at the Mount, some people who might usually be working, might not be able to afford to attend every game etc will make the special effort for the big games. I couldn't go to York today, there have been a few games I haven't been able to make this season for one reason or another, but you can bet your bottom dollar I'll be at Wembley!!
-
No, actually, I don't. Supporters don't have God given rights to know every single thing that goes on behind closed doors, despite what some people think. The club is well run, that's all I need to know and I trust that those who are making the decisions have the best interests of the club at heart. If I criticised my employer in public, I'd expect to be pulled up on it, literally no difference here. And thanks for the condescending tone, like I said before, we have different opinions on this one, it is allowed. I don't need to go over the same thing over and over again, you go and argue with a brick wall if you want to, I've got better things to do.
-
Who is asking him to lie? And I've already explained why. I very much respect Craig Lingard, he's the best thing that's happened to our club for a long time. That doesn't mean I'm not allowed to disagree with him. In this instance, I do. You clearly don't, fair enough.
-
No, I'd expect him to not say anything about the internal processes and business at the club. I've never said he's not either a top coach or a top bloke. Just that in this instance, I think he's wrong to make the comments he has. Not everything is black and white
