Salford financial issues(again…)
Yorks Tim replied to LeytherRob's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Point of information: who is providing this loan and who is going to be repaying it? -
To be honest, Vikings were nowt special today but, to be fair, made it hard work for Hurricanes and took their big chance when it came. Both sides missing key players of course but Hurricanes should have had enough quality to edge a result in our favour. Had a feeling it might come down to a drop goal and we fluffed our chance and guess what happened next...

Dewsbury Rams 28 v 18 Goole Vikings Keighley Cougars 18 v 24 Rochdale Hornets Swinton Lions 18 v 24 Workington Town North Wales Crusaders 22 v 28 Midlands Hurricanes Expecting a closer game than our last visit to Stadiwm CSM but also our players should be well motivated to take revenge for the home defeat earlier this season.

There are currently no teams in League 1 who have not been beaten by Midlands Hurricanes. Today's win over Swinton yeets the final one of those monkeys into touch. This is something we've dreamed of for many a long year! Did it the hard way today but another superb second half effort from Hurricanes turned the game around and kept us ahead of the visitors.

Someone suggested Cougars were better than their results showed so expect them to take advantage at Newcastle. Also expect Thunder to carry their fighting spirit into this game and make it difficult. Crusaders are top for good reason and they're at home. Town should also be winning all their home games the way they're playing.

Sun 25th May: The Betfred League One Match Thread
Yorks Tim replied to John Drake's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
I'd like to think there's a tipping point where the success, in terms of results and league position, is eventually noticed by the good people of Birmingham and another 300-or-so rock up to get involved and enjoy the ride. Hurricanes are a pretty good watch after all in a sport that is usually full of thrills and spills. We do have a committed owner now who does have ambitions to take the club to the next level. A lot of work is being done done to market the club and build the relationships with the local community so you would hope that the crowds will come when that all pays off. It's pretty tough for us though in a huge stadium in an area which is diverse and dispersed - as in kicks to touch not landing in someone's back garden. I think Crusaders have the same challenges as Midlands but the circumstances are different in some ways. -

Anyone's game at half time but Midlands got their act together after the break to blow Whitehaven away. Another impressive win for Mark Dunning's boys who entertain Swinton next week. -
You can't park there mate!

That would be me too. If I'm tired enough, I'll sleep through any disturbance. I would though be much quicker at raising an invoice for rent of my garden. -

Update please

The Sky Blues didn't look capable of it in the 2 games against Leeds but they have managed to improve themselves continuously since and are now the form team in the play-offs. Will be difficult for Sunderland to get their form back after their losing run so that puts Coventry into a single-leg final. By the time they get to Wembley they will be pretty confident of beating (presumably) Sheffield United and of course they do have a bit of experience of playing there in fairly recent times.
