  1. It doesn’t matter, it’s an event, and there are thousands and thousands of Aussies in the UK too. Union fans would go also.
  2. An NRL double header at one of the big London stadiums would be superb, and agreed they’d probably come close to a sell out at somewhere like Spurs’ ground.
  3. Tbf to Beeching he didn’t make the decision to close the railways, he often gets slated for that but he just wrote the report.
  4. Steady on Harry, people on this forum will be debating the merits of a SL team in Dunkirk next.
  5. Great try from Cornwall https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=7555253304485071&id=119923914684751&m_entstream_source=timeline
  6. Expect a load of sarcasm but welcome to the forum, and it’s great to hear you’re enjoying rugby league . I’d have thought about 50 these days, used to be a fair bit more.
  7. Another low attendance at Warrington, worrying stuff.
  8. Oh yeah I forgot about Warrington. The only thing I can think of is that they want the maximum time between the two games, even if it’s at the expense of a big crowd, which if it’s the case demonstrated that having two games over the weekend isn’t ideal.
  9. Yes I wondered why there were two non-televised games last night, with each missing out on a bumper Good Friday crowd.
  10. Thanks for sharing that. I didn’t realise Wakefield’s attendances were just a few hundred at the start of the super league era.
  11. 8,922 in Perpignan, not the sell out that the Toulouse hysterics on this forum always promised us before they got promoted but obviously a Thursday night didn’t help and I expect there were fewer away fans than most SL teams take over there, so all in all a decent attendance.
  12. Possibly because they were/are new and exciting, rather than something that’s been around locally for years so therefore isn’t.
  13. A lot of European football Leagues (Bundesliga being the prime example) get huge crowds, even when the winner is certain before the season kicks off.
  14. Agreed, the FA Cup for example was massive until it was devalued by the Champions League money, I’d say fans back then would almost have taken an FA Cup win over a league title.
  15. Great attendance, though that was 33 years ago so not indicative of what would happen now.
  16. I don’t always, but will try to remember not to in future. Why do you think it would sell out then? York get about 2,000 for big games at the moment, I’d say doubling that for Leeds’ visit is more than generous but let’s say 4,000 home fans. I can’t see Leeds taking 4,000 to a challenge cup game at York, they only had about 5,000 home fans there for the game against Cas.
  17. Do you honestly think York v Leeds would attract anywhere near a 8,000 crowd?
  18. Does that mean there were around 3,500 at the Carcassonne game? If so that’s tremendous isn’t it?
  19. I think Rochdale’s low attendances (compared to the last few seasons) are something to do with a dispute with the football club meaning a massively reduced capacity; but I’m sure someone in the know can elaborate. It’s a shame as I thought Mazey & Co were really going to turn the club around.
  20. Would season ticket prices go up under your plan, or remain as they are?
  21. Is that before or after Ryanair charge you a £50 transaction fee and £25 for going to the bog?
