  1. That is true, yet football clubs who play 23+ home fixtures a year don’t struggle to get crowds in. I know football and RL aren’t comparable in most respects but the time taken to go to a game is.
  2. They would but clearly, as the shockingly low Warrington v Wakefield cup attendance indicated, people are bored of seeing the same teams all the time. I can’t see that changing until there are a couple more teams in SL, or preferably four more.
  3. The cup final is great, it would be ridiculous to scrap it. Anyway if role don’t want to go to the cup games why would they pay more for a season ticket that included cup games? The cup would be made more attractive if we had a 14 or even 16 team SL and no loop fixtures.
  4. A group system would be no more attractive than knock out, less so in fact.
  5. Oh yeah good point (though it was due to Saints fans travelling in big numbers).
  6. I’m sure someone on here said they’d sold 1,000 tickets already a few days ago. Hope it will be a cracking match so they want to come back.
  7. Will they even manage a 14k crowd? Of course not, it’s because of the stadium redevelopment
  8. You were sure that Leeds would have the highest attendance of the weekend a few weeks back when Saints got about 5k more than you.
  9. Sounds like a sensible choice of venue, more so than Nantes which I heard mentioned recently.
  10. Indeed, France offer some test but there would be little point playing any other European nation as preparation for a WC. To help other European countries (countries with domestic set ups, like Serbia and Greece) then great, but not this year.
  11. As Red Star Belgrade nowhere near sell out the Marakana, even for big matches, why do you think two unknown foreign teams playing an unknown sport would sell out? If you get a petition to the RFL going though, I’ll sign it.
  12. I’m talking about the Red Devils rather than Sharks, in case not clear.
  13. My French isn’t much cop, but am I right in thinking (asking the French RL experts here) that a number of clubs including Montpellier have already withdrawn their teams mid-season.
  14. What were they getting in the championship at Ealing? Certainly not 3,000 (I’m not saying Wimbledon is or ever was a good move btw, it seemed strange to me considering how most Broncos fans didn’t want to go there).
  15. I assume they went part time because they couldn’t afford to stay full time, let’s face it it’s not like they were packing Ealing out either. Generous benefactors can only pump money into things for so long.
  16. It is unfortunately for Newcastle, given your comment ‘If there's anyone currently in British RL who could make a go of a SL club in a new area, it's Mick Hogan.’.
  17. Mick Hogan isn’t Newcastle’s chairman any more unfortunately. But yes a win last night will hopefully encourage a few to go to another match.
  18. How many people have you got on mute now? Am I still on the naughty step for having the audacity to disagree with you?
  19. Thunder would easily average 10,000 in SL? Their first attendance this season was 638
  20. 6-7k rattling around Headingley will look awful on the Our League highlights show.
  21. We’ve been through this many times haven’t we. Leeds is a massive city, the only one with a SL team; you’d expect them to have the highest attendances, yet per head of population they’re actually very small compared to most SL teams.
  22. Not enough variety is a big one for me, 12 teams is dull.
  23. Thanks. How have you got these from League Express already?
