  1. Enjoying watching this Wigan team - leading Leeds 10-4 at h/t !

  3. Big difference if you're running U19s - young 1st team squad members at Valkyrie (e.g. Jess Sharp, Chloe Smith, Liv Whitehead) get regular run outs with the juniors now. The one player who's really missed out this season is Daisy Sanderson, and very good prop, who was probably the player least pleased by York signing Aimee Staveley from Leeds
  4. Can't see any indication of any broadcast coverage of the Women's 9s finals day at Salford this Saturday (24th). Last year, OurLeague provided coverage of the day, but all I can currently see scheduled on the platform for Saturday is a tag tournament. Shame - apart from hoping to see York retain their title, I also wanted to see Wigan's Grace Banks play 9s !
  5. Cracking atmosphere at the LNER we're playing well
  6. Lily Savage army have arrived in the Hollywood Bowl
  7. 15 minutes gone, Valkyrie 10-0 up
  8. Grace Banks is a big star in the making - she could be absolutely lethal in the upcoming womens 9's tournament !
  9. With Jodie Cunningham having had surgery in the last couple of days, and Channy Crowl still under concussion protocols after being assaulted on holiday, Saints will have a few stars missing for their Cup fixture against Warrington this weekend.
  10. T'Leesha is a middle forward out of (I think) East Leeds who, on the matches I've watched, has been the biggest yardage maker for the Valkyrie. York had a very strong team out last night, including Chloe Smith at Half-back and Chevelle Clark in the centre, who both train with the 1st team. Not sure what Leeds did to deserve Emma Kershaw playing against them last night - she's only 19, but she barely missed a WSL match last season (scored a hat-trick against Wigan) and is now a very strong defender. I imagine Leeds wouldn't have got much joy down their right edge last night.
  11. Leah Burke of St Helens is apparently due to miss the rest of the season, after rupturing an ACL in the match against Wigan at the weekend. Bad blow for the player, Saints and England.....
  12. Great result forYork, beating Leeds 26-4. Tries for Jess Sharp (2) Isobel Smith, Emma Kershaw and Tiessha Frederick-Maynard, Cody Marsh and Liv Whitehead kicking goals
  13. Great to see the Daily Mirror pick this up (and the Forty20 guys) - shame it hasn't been covered in League Express .......
  14. Sorry, just woken from a dream - this is our starting side for the Challenge Cup QF ?
  15. Can't fault York in their efforts to build on the legacy of being a host last year for the Women's World cup - not sure anyone else in the country is running a programme like this :-
  16. Great interview with Lindsay Anfield on the Forty20 podcast about the Uganda trip - she reckons she's found the next Hollie Dodd !
  17. Perhaps this is the reason Luke Gale left - Cougars wouldn't pay for hair maintenance.....
