  1. My thoughts exactly
  2. For the benefit of those who don't have Twitter or Facebook access, I'll be posting the daily updates (videos and pics) that the Valkyrie team are putting up in the thread I've opened in the Women's RL section on this forum. This is a real adventure - I've put a link in there already of a video of Rhiannon Marshall - barely 48 hours after monstering a tired Warrington defence at the LNER - teaching tackling technique in the middle of a field in Entebbe !
  3. I've smeared posts on this all over the site on this, but here's a practical insight into the work Valkyrie players in Entebbe are doing this week, fresh from beating Warrington on Sunday :-
  4. After shifting the equivalent of five Pauli Pauli's worth of old gear through customs, the Valkyrie team are straight into their first training session
  5. Impressive amount of old kit (including donations from schools and community clubs) on its way with a delegation of York Valkyrie staff and players to Entebbe yesterday evening
  6. Sorry didn't give a report on the York-Leeds game .... arrived home very wet! On the stroke of kick-off, the rain came down heavily, turning it into a wet-ball game, posing problems for both teams. Lots of dropped balls and uncompleted sets. York were a bit blunt, partly attributable to playing a few players out of their usual positions (eg Eva Azumi and Liv Whitehead in the centres). Leeds ended up adapting far better, and were worthy winners. If the previously mentioned Ruby Enright was the tall free-running player coming out of fall back for Leeds, she was indeed the stand-out player on the night.
  7. Another side nilled in the 2nd half by the Valkyrie, as York run out 44-4 winners against Warrington, having only led 16-4 at half-time. Think the correct League phrase is Warrington had a "real dig" - forwards were niggly and tough, and some untidy play from York gave them a helping hand up the pitch in the first half they really didn't need, as they held their own for long periods. Second half, York's bench strength told, with the points mostly clocked up in the last quarter. Impressed with Warrington though - I anticipate their matches with Wigan being close (and tough!)
  8. Great performance by Saints pack, but coach will probably be disappointed by the fact that they let Leeds back into the match after scoring first in 2nd half. Its been notable this year how good York's performances have been in the back end of games (helped enormously by being able to bring the likes of Jas Bell and Grace Field off the bench, so there's really no let up in intensity up front) Good return for Fake Gaskin too For Leeds, the loss of both star half backs from last year, Georgia Roche and Courtney Winfield-Hill, this season leaves a big hole. They'll be a lot better to for the return of Kaitlyn Beevers from injury, though.
  9. The Valkyrie game against Warrington on Sunday morning (11.30am KO) is on OurLeague free of charge
  10. Return of Faye Gaskin tonight for Saints, after a year and a half out with injury
  11. Sunday morning's WSL fixture between York and Warrington (which kicks off the 2nd day of this Year's Championship Summer Bash) will be broadcast on the OurLeague app FREE - KO 11.30am.
  12. OK, we'll offer you a double header with the Valkyrie playing the Leopards Ladies for an aggregate score line

    London Today

Since we're pioneers of the double header, can we offer Leigh that option with an aggregate score line, or argue that we have a 54 point start from today's Valkyrie Challenge Cup fixture ?
  14. Great results for London and Cardiff, and a very creditable effort from Hull KR, who led Barrow at half-time
  15. York v Leeds tonight - might try to get along to this
  16. Seems to be either extraordinary naivety or arrogance from the Cougars owners here, if they thought they were going to waltz straight to the top of the Championship after years in League One. They are in the mix with Batley, Widnes, Bradford and York (having already beaten the latter two) for a place in the play-offs, which is about where they should expect to be, given their current squad and experience.
  17. Wow...... world's gone mad is my first reaction
