Ground Share

So Wakefield & Cas have been told by the council they either share a ground, or relinquish the potential funding the council were offering.

There is to be an independent study to ascertain which of the two sites would be best and quickest to realise, then the clubs have to make a decision as to whether they share or not.

Interestingly, the chap from Stadium Wakefield Action Group has said they wouldn't move to the Glasshoughton site if that was the result of the study, they would be 'tackling life at Belle Vue and whatever that throws at it'. So perhaps the deal isn't done on BV after all.

In the event that a joint stadium is developed, could we not use that in any application to SL if we so wished (in the even that POR wasn't deemed good enough under whatever rules the RFL were choosing to apply at the time); we are under the same council, after all.

having been stabbed in the back by both these clubs, we should wish them both a long and miserable association. they deserve each other.

Councilor Box says the council will not support 2 stadiums and if both clubs go it alone then the land that they have been given that they can loan 2 million from will be withdrawn due to the changes after the election. I wonder how it effects us because i know we were also given land to borrow 2 million off and it was going to kick start our re-development

If Box said the 2 SL clubs, then that should not affect us. At least we have firm plans in place to realistically redevelop what we have, rather than go for the sparkly, shiny new stadia.

The council should stick by us, we are the only 1 out of the 3 that has a chance of the plans actually coming to fruition B)

Then again, council = politician so owt could happen

The weak conform, the strong survive.
