The stadium was capacity was increased for the day by Kirklees Council. This enabling a bigger attendance. It is correct that the ground holds short of 4000, as the new terrace can't be included unless it is covered.

Out of interest, what was the basis of the temporary increase in capacity?

I would assume the application would have had to be submitted well in advance of the good weather forecast. Were any contingency plans (for wet weather) required?
