fevnut’s musings 2024/#09: Away at Batley, A Shameful Mess and Internationalism

Recommended Posts

We begin by talking about last weekend’s game at Batley and why we were so poor in the opening fifteen minutes.

This past week has been very bad for the club with some very unsavoury information being bandied about and Mark Campbell announcing that he is stepping down as Chairman. We don’t wish to be part of the mud-slinging but we do wish to make some comments about the situation the club is in.

In the past there were times when international RL was limited to a very small number of teams. How things have changed and we write about why internationalism is important to us and the wide distribution of international qualification in our 2024 Fev Squad.

Just on a nerdy geography note, it's French Guiana, which is just part of France, although it's in South America, not French Guinea, which was in Africa, but no longer exists. Although they have an international football team, they can't play in FIFA competitions, i.e. the world cup. I wonder how they'd be treated in international rugby league!
