wayner
Another bad day at the office Team worked hard in defence but sadly created nothing in attack - going in only 14 nil down at half time was promising since we were playing down hill in the second half. Although we had plenty of possession we looked void of ideas when we were on attack. I am sorry to say it but Bennion doesn't look match fit and shouldn't be first choice prop. We need to use Walker more intelligently and get the halves running off him when he takes theΒ ball in. Batley were workman like but nothing special and were for the taking in the second half but we weren't able to Unless our half backs start creating opportunities we won't win another match Tough one next week as Halifax have hit form and hammered Barrow today. Mark
I didnt attend, I have missed more games this season then ever before I think. I did watch Alan's post matchinterview, it was worrying that he seemed very downbeat and saying some players are not giving 100%. also mentioned players had already agreed to move for next season.Β "When you participate in sporting events, it's not whether you win or lose; it's how drunk you get." -Homer Simpson "I couldn't be more chuffed if I were a badger at the start of the mating season" Ian Holloway

Sailaway
It was interesting to hear which players he thought had given their best. Not many mentioned but included two dual reg players I think and one who is going to Widnes by all accounts. I agree that the tone was worrying and not indicative of a team that will turn fortunes around. It will be interesting to see who is in the squad for the next match - not that there is much room for major changes in a small squad.
wayner
My personal view is we can't win matches if we can't create the opportunities to score and last Sunday was dreadful in that regard - can't see what can change for Sunday - which is a must win match, as all the remaining matches are. Halifax are on form right now and we can't win - doesn't make for a good day - but we have a good record against Halifax so lets hope we can win on Sunday........... Mark
I tihnk its hard when the forwards aren't laying a platform, all sides now know everything comes off Jordan Gibson as well. The size of someone like Houghton, he should be running over people and I dont think I have seen him beat a man all year.Β "When you participate in sporting events, it's not whether you win or lose; it's how drunk you get." -Homer Simpson "I couldn't be more chuffed if I were a badger at the start of the mating season" Ian Holloway
wayner
I agree but on Sunday the pack competed well and certainly Batley did not dominate in the forwards - we must have had 70% of the possession in the second half but could not fashion any openings. Yes teams do now know about Gibson, Hall and Roby for this reason the play needs to be smarter - easy for me to say while watching. I don't always understand the forward rotation plenty of times seems like a player is taken off too soon - as for Houghton he is a big lad and runs hard but isn't making any breaks - I feel that way about Bennion who just isn't the same player since he came back from Rochdale. Β If we do go down this season it will be a very bitter pill to take knowing that the team lost at least 5 matches which we should have won..............
