FRANKIE BLAKEY has left Leeds Rhinos in order to pursue opportunities away from the club.
The halfback, who joined the Rhinos’ Women’s Pathway as a junior, made her debut against St Helens in 2025.
She went on to make nine appearances that season as Leeds earned a fourth-placed Women’s Super League finish before being defeated by eventual winners Wigan in the play-off semi-finals.
Blakey made a further eleven appearances for her hometown club this year, scoring twice.
Whilst keen to keep her at the club, head coach Lois Forsell admits she understands Blakey’s desire for more game time.
“It’s not quite mapped out over the last couple of years at Leeds that we have been able to give her that consistent game time in her preferred position.
“We wish we had more time to work with her, so we are sad to see her go but we understand that she feels for her own development she needs to make take the next step away from Leeds for her and her career.”
