Full Time Report: England 34 Fiji 12

England delivered in the second half with a magical spell that saw Steve McNamara’s side score five tries in 26 minutes.

After a competitive first half England took control straight from the second half restart, collecting their own kick and before Fiji had touched the ball Sam Burgess was scattering the Fijian defence from 10 metres out.

Brett Ferres was over from a superbly delayed pass from Rangi Chase, and with skipper Kevin Sinfield converting both England had shot into a 18-6 lead within four second half minutes.

Ryan Hall was over  following another piece of good play from Chase and then Sinfield’s inside ball to Chris Hill saw Rob Burrow in support to score.

Burrow was held up prior to an unconverted try for Hall in the 56th minute and at 34-6 victory was assured for England.

Ben Westwood was placed on report a few minutes after England had conceded a try to Semi Radradra eight minutes from time.
