Further duo commit to Halifax for 2016

Halifax RLFC have announced that wingers Gareth Potts and Tommy Saxton have signed new one-year deals with the club ahead of the 2016 season.

Potts will extend his stay at the MBi Shay for another year after joining the club from Batley Bulldogs after the conclusion of the 2013 season.

The former Wakefield Wildcats junior featured predominantly for Richard Marshall’s side this season before an injury towards the end of the regular season saw him miss part of the Super 8’s Qualifiers.

Experienced winger Saxton capped a fine season with two tries in the crushing win over Bradford Bulls in the Qualifiers. The former Featherstone Rovers man will face stiff competition on the wing next term following the arrival of Will Sharp from Rovers as well as Potts, Jake Eccleston, Alex Brown and utility back James Saltonstall.

Halifax have announced a number of key men have signed new deals in the past week, with Potts and Saxton joining the likes of hooker Ben Kaye and Jake Eccleston.
