Cronulla Sharks captain Paul Gallen has left the door open for a move to Super League in 2017 after signing on for another year with the NRL club.
Gallen will remain with Cronulla in 2016 after penning a 12-month extension to remain in the NRL, but continued to fuel speculation about moving to England later in his year when asked about his longer term future.
“I was only ever after one more year,” he said.
“As I’ve said before I wouldn’t mind going to an English Super League club for a season, but I’ll see how I am in 12 months’ time and I’ll decide what my future is then.”
