German Exiles to play Brazil representative side in Keighley

GERMAN EXILES will play a Brazilian representative side on Sunday.

The game at Cougar Park, Keighley will kick-off at noon and is a curtain-raiser to the Betfred Championship fixture between Keighley and Swinton. 

The Exiles, who drew 28-28 with Royal Engineers in April, have two further games lined up, against the Prison Service RL at Sharlston, Wakefield, on Friday, July 10 and, on Saturday, August 29 against a German Domestic XIII.

That last match, at Featherstone Rovers, will be played for the annual Kaiser Cup and is supported by True Blue.

The German Exiles squad, which will be whittled down to 20 players, is: Jason Kay, Zach Burke, Martin Robinson, Brad Billsborough, Shaun Smith, Jimmy Adams, Scott Wilson, Will Fairhead, Drew Malcolm, Lewis Dempsey, Oliver Bowie, Steve Brinkley, Jamie Blakeston, Eoin Bowie, Joshua Pengel, Jamie Billsborough, Liam Harley, Lewis Wilson, George Wood, Joshua McConnell, James Whitaker, Charlie Tetley, Jordan Williams and Arron Williams.

Zak Bredin and Connor Hampson are the managers while the coaches are Kieron Billsborough, David Stones and Conrad Tetley.

The Brazilians, who are coached by York Barbarians’ Brent Ogilvie, are a representative side comprising Brazilians living abroad or those of Brazilian heritage, plus a few friends from the Brazilian community.
