Giants keen to keep Ormsby

Huddersfield Giants will approach Warrington Wolves about extending their deal for winger Gene Ormsby.

“He’s a great player and someone who I’d like to try and keep here longer but we’ll have to see how things develop on that,” said Giants coach Paul Anderson.

“He’s a Warrington player so there’s a process to follow.

“Tony’s (Smith) been really good and obviously wants him to play and we have been giving him opportunities to do that.

Ormsby has been squeezed out at the Halliwell Jones Stadium by the fine form of the likes of Tom Lineham, Rhys Evans and Kevin Penny for the Super League leaders.

But Lineham picked up a head-knock which forced him off during Warrington’s 40-10 victory over a patched-up Wigan last week, which might give Ormsby the opportunity to push for a spot with the Wolves.
