Wakefield star Ashley Gibson has had a successful operation on his shoulder.
The Wildcats back suffered the injury during Wakefield’s recent victory over Widnes when Patrick Ah Van conducted a nasty looking tackle on the 29-year-old.
That tackle earned Ah Van a five-match suspension, with Gibson also suffering as he dislocated his shoulder in the tackle.
However, Gibson is now on the road to recovery and took to Twitter to tell everyone the good news.
He tweeted: “Operation successful. Thanks to Dr Funk @52AlderleyRoad hospital for looking after me. Road to recovery begins.”

Wakefield are likely to be without Gibson for an extended period as they aim to secure a spot in the top eight of Super League.
