NRL side Gold Coast Titans have given former St Helens forward Joe Greenwood permission to return home.
Greenwood has received expressions of interest from several Super League sides, the Titans have confirmed, after he slipped down the club’s pecking order in Australia.
He has been playing for their feeder side, the Burleigh Bears, in recent weeks – and Gold Coast head of football Phil Moss has confirmed Greenwood is free to leave the club if he wants.
“We have had a couple of English clubs show interest and have said to Joe that if there was a good opportunity he wanted to pursue, we would be happy to let him go,” Moss told NRL.com.
“He has aspirations of playing for England but Garth (Brennan) has been honest with him and he’s behind the eight-ball currently here.”
