Gold Coast Titans sign Eddy Pettybourne

Gold Coast Titans have signed former Wigan Warriors forward Eddy Pettybourne, who has penned a one-year deal to complete a return to Australia’s NRL.

The 26-year-old  has been signed after being granted a release from Wigan on personal grounds, as reported in League Express several weeks ago.

Pettybourne has been brought in as a replacement for Paul Carter, who was sacked after a drink-driving incident in December.

Titans coach Neil Henry was happy to sign a player of Pettybourne’s experience.

“He’s a hard-running back or front-rower who’s had a lot of experience at the top level and I know Wigan were very happy with his form last season,” Henry said.

“He was prominent in their run to the grand final and had proved himself at NRL level.

“He will be a valuable addition and we are very lucky to have a player of his stature to replace Paul.”
