GOSSIP: Fifita being lined up for NRL return, say reports

He’s only been in the country for a matter of weeks – but is Wakefield Trinity Wildcats forward David Fifita set to return home next year?

Fifita has certainly caught the eye since joining from Cronulla earlier this month, but one report in the NRL has picked him out for a move to Newcastle Knights next year.

Fox Sports say that Fifita “headlines” the recruitment plans of the Knights for 2017, as well as also saying that Fifita’s family are keen to see him move back Down Under.

The 26-year-old is under contract to Trinity for next season, after signing an 18-month deal to join the club mid-season.

He scored two tries in just his second appearance for the club last weekend, playing a starring role as Wakefield moved to within one game of Wembley by beating Huddersfield.
