GOSSIP: Sammut to stay at Workington?

Workington halfback Jarrod Sammut could well be staying at the Cumbrian club.

The exciting playmaker’s future has yet to be confirmed ahead of 2016 after spending the latter end of last season with Workington after his departure from Wakefield.

Sammut earned rave reviews for his performances in the Championship, and in a feature interview with Rugby League World, Sammut admitted he would be open to prolonging his stay with Phil Veivers’ side.

However, several clubs were thought to be interested in signing the Maltese international, with Bradford Bulls and Dewsbury Rams both heavily linked with the halfback, and both clubs appeared to be better fits for Sammut due to his Leeds location.

But TotalRL.com understands that Sammut is set to stay at Workington for next season after enjoying his time at Town, which would be a huge boost to their plans ahead of the upcoming Championship season.
