A number of Super League clubs are thought to be keen on bringing Tim Lafai to the competition.
The Samoan centre left Canterbury last week to pave the way for the Bulldogs to sign Will Hopoate from Parramatta Eels.
His departure from the NRL giants has put a number of English clubs on alert as they look to use up their salary cap, with Hull KR one club still in the market for another player. Meanwhile, Leigh are also known to be looking for an overseas centre.
There is also a number of NRL clubs interested in his services, with Penrith Panthers and Gold Coast Titans amongst the interested parties.
Lafai made his debut for the Bulldogs in 2011, with the 24-year-old averaging almost a try every other game in his 74 appearances for Canterbury.
