Green and Pettybourne back for Wigan Warriors

Wigan Warriors have been handed a huge boost ahead of this Thursday’s trip to Hull KR, after former Rovers half-back Blake Green returned to the squad following a serious arm injury.

Green has spent almost three months on the sidelines after a bicep injury, but will return to the fold for the Thursday night trip across the Pennines.

“Greeny is good to play and it’s a huge boost to have him returning to the side after such a spell in the medical room. He has worked hard to get back to fitness and deserves this,” boss Shaun Wane said.

Eddy Pettybourne also returns to the squad after suffering a jaw injury a month ago in 37-16 defeat of Catalan.

Wane continued: “Eddy is back with us too, I had some selection headaches this week and we have some talent not in the squad. It is great competition for the players, which will hopefully improve our performances.”

Wigan Warriors squad to face Hull KR: John Bateman, Matt Bowen, Josh Charnley, Dom Crosby,  Gil Dudson, Liam Farrell, Ben Flower, Anthony Gelling, Blake Green, Jack Hughes, Dom Manfredi, Sean O’Loughlin, Eddy Pettybourne, Sam Powell, Dan Sarginson, Matty Smith, Scott Taylor, Joel Tomkins, George Williams
