Fans of State of Origin will have no doubt been glued to their TV screens this past Wednesday, as Queensland restored some pride by beating New South Wales in the third and final Origin encounter of 2014.
Even though the game was effectively a dead rubber (if there can be such a thing in Origin), it didn’t stop tensions spilling over at several points throughout the game. And there was one particular incident where Nate Myles appeared to elbow New South Wales’ Greg Bird – an incident which upset Queensland boss Mal Meninga after the hooter on Wednesday.
He told reporters that Bird had been watching the football World Cup, suggesting he took a dive when Myles made contact with him. The colourful Bird was quick to issue his response to Meninga’s comments though, by issuing a challenge to the Maroons boss in the video below. Check it out.
