Grix handed testimonial by Rugby Football League

The Rugby Football League has confirmed they have awarded former Warrington Wolves’ and current Halifax and Ireland forward Simon Grix 12-month testimonial.

Grix, who has signed for Fax ahead of 2016 after a lengthy spell with the Wolves, has been given the testimonial in recognition of his long and illustrious career, as well as his good character and service to the community both within and around Rugby League.

Grix started his professional Rugby League career at Halifax, making his debut for Warrington in April 2006.

He became a versatile hero for the Wolves during his time there as a player, being able to play in numerous different positions during his career.

He made 147 appearances for the Wolves, scoring 48 tries, one of which was at the Grand Final against Wigan in 2013.

And to kick-off the calendar, Warrington will take on Leigh Centurions in the only pre-season friendly at The Halliwell Jones Stadium, on Sunday 24th January 2016, kick-off 3.00pm.
