Half Time Report: Australia 16 Fiji 2

Australia are on course for their second victory in the 2013 Rugby League World Cup as they go into the break against Fiji with a 14-point advantage.

Wind and rain swept down the Langtree Park pitch right from the start with Australia soon over the Fijian line but the try from Josh Morris was ruled out for Australian offside in the lead up.

On eight minutes Alipate Noilea kicked a penalty goal for Fiji after Australia were penalised in front of their own posts.

The Fijian lead was short lived with Josh Papalii crossing for a try converted by Johnathan Thurston.

Thurston was unable to add the extras after Greg Inglis had left four defenders stranded to set up a try for Darius Boyd, but the Australian stand-off converted beautifully when Michael Jennings crossed nine minutes before the interval.
