Fiji withstood an intense spell of Samoan pressure just before the break to keep a clean sheet in the first half of the quarter final at Warrington.
That spell came ten minutes before the break as the Fijians held an eight-point lead.
They then added a second converted try as Wes Naiqama picked up a kick from Aaron Groom to score and add the conversion.
The centre had previously kicked the conversion to a fourth minute try from Groom and then added a tenth minute penalty goal.
Groom’s try came on the back of a sensational break from winger Akuila Uate as the Fijians stamped their authority on the tie in the early stages.
