Hansen and Paterson set to depart Salford, Sheens says

Salford Red Devils director of rugby has appeared to let slip that both captain Harrison Hansen and key forward Cory Paterson are set to depart the AJ Bell Stadium at the end of the season.

In a press conference held at the club this morning, Sheens revealed what has not yet been made public – that Hansen and Paterson are going to depart the club.

“In real terms, the players who are leaving, particularly Harrison and other players like Cory (Paterson) and so on, are all playing well for the club,” he said, according to Salford Online.

The double departure would be a major blow for Salford’s pack for 2016, given how they have already lost Scott Taylor to Hull FC and Lama Tasi to St Helens.

The news has not officially been confirmed by the club yet. Paterson is in his first season with the club having joined from Wests Tigers, whilst 29-year-old forward Hansen is still under contract for next year, having signed a four-year deal when he joined at the end of the 2013 season.
