Hardaker departs for Penrith today

Zak Hardaker’s journey to Australia begins today, with the Man of Steel posting one final picture on social media before heading Down Under.

The Leeds star flies to Australia today after completing a deal to join the Penrith Panthers, with James Segeyaro moving the other way to Headingley.

And Hardaker took to Twitter ahead of his journey to the airport.

He told his 54,000 followers: “Onwards to Manchester airport. Looking forward to the next few months. Let’s go!”

It remains unclear where Hardaker will play in the Panthers side, with New South Wales star Matt Moylan currently occupying the number 1 jersey.

Moylan could move into the halves to facilitate Hardaker in his primary position, but he could also move into a centre position, and beyond that a place on the wing.

The England international could make his debut when Penrith travel to the ANZ Stadium to play Wests Tigers on Saturday.

Hardaker joins Penrith as they sit eighth in the NRL table.
