Hetherington thanks Leeds fans for continued support

Leeds chief executive Gary Hetherington has thanked supporters for their loyalty during a tough year for the Rhinos.

Despite a disappointing season by Leeds’ standards, there has been a minimal drop on crowds from last year’s treble winning season.

While other clubs have struggled at times to bring in the fans this season, Hetherington believes Leeds’ consistency is an indication of the strength of their fanbase.

“Our crowds have remained constant and that’s a great testimony to the support we’ve got. Whilst the results haven’t gone our way we’ve staged some memorable matches and occasions and I think that coming to watch a Super League game at Headingley remains an experience.”

Hetherington also talked up the Rhinos’ Qualifiers debut, and admits that it promises to be an exciting seven weeks.

“You take it one at a time because this competition throws up interest in every fixture,” he told TotalRL.

“Leeds fans will be looking at every game to see how it impacts us, and I think it will be a fascinating seven-week contest.”
