York City Knights have been forced to take action and re-arrange the friendly that was to take place against Hull FC at Bootham Crescent next weekend.
The fixture will now be played at the Keepmoat Stadium, Doncaster, on Sunday 11th January, with a 4.45pm KO as part of a double header, with Doncaster RLFC taking on Hull FC’s young guns at 3pm.
A club spokesman said, “We are disappointed that promises and assurances have not been met by York City Council, but we will just bat on until we hear from the Council on the reasons why they have not been in contact with the club since early November 2014. We are optimistic that the issues can be resolved very quickly once the Council confirms when we can meet.”
The Knights have previously confirmed that they can play at Bootham Crescent on the 1st February 2015 in another friendly match and are still hopeful this will still take place, with opposition to be confirmed in the near future.
The Hull FC Team to play the Knights at Doncaster next Sunday will be made up of the first team squad, and ticket prices will be those that apply to the Doncaster RLFC v Hull FC game (£10 adults, £7 concessions and £3 juniors) and will be valid for both of the day’s matches.
