Hull FC captain wants strong finish to season

Hull FC skipper Gareth Ellis has targeted seven wins from the final seven games of the season, after admitting it has been a hugely disappointing year for the club.

The Black and Whites are scrambling to make the top eight after a poor 2014 season, and Ellis believes the club simply haven’t won enough games over the course of the season – but is targeting a strong finish to go some way towards correcting that.

“We’re a team who haven’t won enough games this year, which is clear to see by where we sit in the league table,” he told the club’s official website.

“We’ve got the ability, but just seem to struggle to find it at the right times in games. That’s something we need to address.

“We’ve got seven games left now, and we need to go out there and try and win every one of them. It’s been a disappointing year, but we need to finish as strongly as possible.”
