Hull FC star Richard Whiting’s season over

Hull FC have lost one of their key players for the remaining three games of this season, after it was today revealed that Richard Whiting will be undergoing wrist surgery.

The Black and Whites have opted to send Whiting under the knife now to ensure he will be back in time for pre-season training later this year. Whiting has been playing with the injury for a number of weeks, but he and Hull FC have now conceded defeat.

With the Black and Whites five points adrift of the top eight with three games remaining, the club have decided to prioritise Whiting’s fitness for next season by sending him for surgery at an earlier date.

“We knew Rich needed an operation and we are looking now to get that done sooner rather than later to give him an opportunity to participate in pre-season,” coach Lee Radford told the Hull Daily Mail.
