Hull FC will not rush Ellis injury return after setback

Hull FC are hoping that captain and star player Gareth Ellis will return from his rib injury sooner than expected – but the club will not push him to come back if he’s not ready.

Ellis could miss a month of action due to the injury, ruling him out of the crucial Easter period, which involves the massive Hull derby next Thursday, live on Sky Sports.

And Radford says that the club will give him as long as he needs to be fighting fit when he returns.

“There’s a chance he may be back sooner,” Radford told the Hull Daily Mail.

“We hope we can get him back before the initial timeframe, but we have put no pressure on Gaz or the physio staff for that to happen.

“It will be as long as it takes to get him right because he is important for us for the season and not just one or two games.”
