Hull KR star stays top of Albert Goldthorpe race

The race for League Express’ Albert Goldthorpe Medal is hotting up, with just eight rounds left of the Super League season. Hull KR star Travis Burns has been dominating at the top for some time now, and after Round 19 of the competition last week, Burns extended his lead at the top of the table.

The Australian picked up the maximum three points for his part in Hull KR’s heavy victory over St Helens at the weekend, meaning he moves onto 24 points. He is now two clear of his nearest challenger – Catalan Dragons’ Leon Pryce, who has 22 points. He got two points from our reporter for his role in the Dragons’ late victory over Bradford on Sunday.

Third place now goes to Castleford’s Daryl Clark, who got the maximum three points after the Tigers’ win over Widnes last Thursday.
