Hull youngster joins York City Knights on season-long loan

Hull FC youngster Connor Bower has left the Black and Whites to join League One side York City Knights on a season-long loan.

Bower, who is in Hull’s 35-man squad for the 2016 season and was primarily expected to compete for a role in the club’s reserve squad this year, has now joined up with James Ford’s side for 2016 and is in contention for their iPro Sport Cup game at Hunslet Hawks on Sunday afternoon.

“Connor played against Doncaster in pre-season and looked strong at the end of the game,” Ford told the York Press.

“Everyone who’s fit is in contention. It will be a tough ask for him to come in and learn our systems in time for what will be a very tough game, but we’ll see.

“We’ll be checking on one or two of the other blokes who are possibly coming back in training this week.”
