Idris found safe in Vietnam

NRL star Jamal Idris has been found safe after allegedly being the victim of an attempted kidnapping.

Reports surfaced online that the Australian international had gone missing over the weekend, but was later reported to be safe.

Idris, who is currently without a club, was reportedly on a tour in the Vietnam city of Ho Chi Minh when he was separated from his party.

And according to Australian reports, he was then pursued by a group of kidnappers who tried to get money from him.

He has since contacted home to say he is safe while the tour group Idris was a part of have confirmed his safety.

The 25-year-old has decided to take a break from Rugby League after leaving Penrith Panthers in November.
