Ireland pulled off a major shock last night with a 42-20 victory over Wales in the second stage of the Student Four Nations Championships in Edinburgh.
The Irish, who lost 52-4 to England in Monday’s openers, now have a chance of topping the final table – if they can pile up the points against Scotland, and if Wales can return to form and beat current table-toppers England, in Saturday’s closing games.
England head the standings after accounting for Scotland 40-10 in yesterday’s other fixture.
