Jake Connor is Super League Player of the Year as all Readers’ Poll winners revealed

JAKE CONNOR has been chosen by rugby league supporters as Super League’s Player of the Year.

The mercurial halfback won the Man of Steel award for his excellent displays across a first campaign at Leeds Rhinos.

While Connor was controversially omitted from the England squad for the Ashes series, his efforts have been recognised by fans in the League Express Readers’ Poll 2025.

He claimed 33.8 percent of the vote, finishing ahead of treble-winning Hull KR pair Jez Litten (25.2 percent) and Mikey Lewis (16.3 percent).

It may be a case of split voting among Robins admirers, however, because Connor oddly hasn’t made the Super League Team of the Year, being beaten to the scrum-half position by Lewis.

Hull KR dominate the team with seven players, Lewis and Litten joined by Joe Burgess, Peta Hiku, Sauaso Sue, Dean Hadley and Elliot Minchella.

Losing Grand Finalists Wigan Warriors have Jai Field, Bevan French and Junior Nsemba selected, while there are also representatives of Hull FC (Lewis Martin), Leeds (Ash Handley) and Wakefield Trinity (Mike McMeeken).

The Robins earn further recognition with a Coach of the Year landslide for Willie Peters (67 percent of the vote), plus Team of the Year (46 percent, ahead of Wigan Warriors’ women) and Moment of the Year (36.2 percent for their Grand Final win).

There is a twin success for St Helens’ Harry Robertson as both Young Player of the Year (23.7 percent, just 0.3 percent ahead of Nsemba) and Newcomer of the Year.

York Knights and Workington Town can both celebrate double wins in the Championship and League One respectively, despite neither club lifting the league titles.

Paul McShane has won Player of the Year in the second tier, with Mark Applegarth the Coach of the Year.

And in League One, Zarrin Galea has been chosen as the top player and Jonty Gorley the best coach.

Unsurprisingly, Wigan have won both awards in the women’s game after lifting all four available trophies last season.

Woman of Steel Eva Hunter has won the Super League Player of the Year, and Denis Betts is Coach of the Year.
