JOE BURGESS has signed for Catalans Dragons on a two-year deal following his release by Hull KR.
The 31-year-old England international winger has scored 203 tries in 274 matches across a career which has brought two spells at Wigan Warriors, an NRL stint with Sydney Roosters and South Sydney Rabbitohs, plus time at Salford Red Devils.
In three seasons at Hull KR he won all four available trophies including last year’s treble, capped by scoring two of their four tries in the Grand Final win against Wigan.
He then scored a try in February’s World Club Challenge success against Brisbane Broncos – his second global title, having also won it with Wigan in 2017, when he bagged a hat-trick against Cronulla Sharks.
Hull KR cited salary-cap pressures for his exit, and Catalans have taken advantage.
Burgess said: “I’m grateful and excited for the opportunity to join the Catalans Dragons and to do my job in a different country.”
