JON BENNISON has signed a new one-year deal with York Knights.
After missing the start of the 2026 season due to hip surgery, the 23-year-old winger went on to score 10 tries in 14 appearances, kicking 24 goals in the process.
Bennison scored a hat-trick in York’s 22-14 defeat at Leigh Leopards in August as well as two tries in the Knights’ Magic Weekend victory against Huddersfield Giants.
A product of St Helens’ academy set-up, Bennison made 71 appearances in a Saints shirt, scoring 28 tries and kicking 23 goals over a period of five seasons.
York head coach Mark Applegarth said: “I’m really delighted Jon’s been extended for another year.
“He’s still really young with relatively a lot of experience and the best compliment I can give Jon is he’s just really solid, a Mr Consistent.
“He’s very brave for his size, never takes a backward step, and he’s got a very high level of understanding and a good IQ.”
