Batley Bulldogs head coach John Kear believes that international recognition received by his players benefits the club.
Winger Wayne Reittie is currently with the Jamaica squad as they prepare to clash with USA tonight, whilst former loanee and current transfer target Alex Brown is also set to feature for Jamaica.
“I’m a big internationalist myself,” said Kear.
“The sport needs a blossoming international game and central to that are the players. Any of my players that are selected I’m delighted for and I encourage them to go.”
Kear coached the Wales side that shocked the rest of the competition to win the European Championship last month. He missed the start of pre-season with Batley as he went on holiday, but was at training for Tuesday’s session.
Meanwhile, developments surrounding Alex Brown have not picked up due to him being away with the Jamaica squad.
