KEIGHLEY COUGARS’ home Championship fixture against Dewsbury Rams has been postponed because of an unfit pitch.

The tie was due to kick-off at 3pm on Sunday but was called off around half an hour beforehand by match referee Luke Bland.

Cougar Park’s surface was deemed to be too hard to be safe to play on – despite a women’s Northern League Three fixture between Keighley and Oldham taking place on it several hours earlier.

No new date has yet been confirmed for the fixture between two teams in contention to make the ten-team play-offs.

Dewsbury went into the weekend tenth in the division with 14 points, and Keighley in 14th with ten points.
